With the second wave of the COVID 19 pandemic wreaking havoc all over the world, I am searching for inspiration for 2021, for hope and courage to face each new day. What comes to mind is following the example of a tortoise. From Wikipedia I learn that tortoises are the longest-living land animals in the world and that they are placid and very slow moving, with an average walking speed of 0.2-0.5 km/h. Clearly, they are good at adapting and surviving. So what do I take with me into 2021 – take it slow, find the closeness of HOME and access it often to rest and to find courage to emerge again to take another step on journey through 2021. May God help us daily moving forward, slowly, and sustainably with our belonging and HOME intimately nearby….
